One White Midi Dress - Three Ways!
As a girl always on the move, often times I do not have time to run to my apartment for an outfit change between class and work. By incorporating basics into my wardrobe, I have found that layering and accessorizing are the perfect way to dress up (or down) a simple piece.
One of my favorite basics from The Shoppes, is Sweetest Stitch's "Off White, Midi Shirt Dress". From the color to the fit, this dress is a timeless piece that you can keep in your closet forEVER. The midi length of the dress gives a summer feel but can easily transition to autumn with a layering piece. If you are a girl on the run, like me, you’ll find this article extremely helpful to your fast-paced lifestyle. I will show you three different ways to style this fun dress!
Work: Scarf, Dainty Necklace
Scarves are an accessory that recently stole my heart. This classic trend has re-emerged, and I am loving it! There are quite a few ways to style a scarf, but a personal favorite of mine, is to tie it around a high pony. This is such an elegant look that can dress up your outfit for the workplace. Playing with the color and pattern in your scarf is a super fun way to make your dress pop!
Devyn’s Secret: Thrift your scarf! Often times thrift stores will have vintage scarves for cheap; reduce, reuse, recycle!
Another way to dress up this simple look from Sweetest Stitch is to add a super delicate chain necklace. This is yet another classic look that will elevate your midi dress. While you’re out grabbing your thrifted scarf, take a look in the jewelry section. Resale shops are a gold-mine for high end, vintage jewelry.
Simplicity is key!
Girls Night: Wedge, Clutch
It is all in the accessories! Sweetest Stitch's "Off White, Midi Shirt Dress" is simple with a timeless flare. Adding a few statement pieces to such a versatile dress can take your outfit go from the breakroom to girls’ night out.
Add a pop of color to your dress with a statement clutch. Instead of carrying around your bulky Neverfull, opt for a fun pattern or color on a small bag. Not only is this super stylish, it also is super practical and will help you only carry the essentials when you're out; phone, wallet, keys, and (of course) lip gloss!
As I am sure you have all been told before; the shoe completes the look! Throwing on a fun heel will seal the deal on your cocktail hour ensemble. When styling your midi dress, opt for a taller heel, to elongate the leg. One shoe trend that has made its way from the runway to real world includes - one of my personal favorites - the platform wedge! This is an easy way to have fun with your outfit, while keeping it classic and timeless.
Weekend Day Time: Jean Jacket, Sneakers
A denim jacket is such a staple piece in every fashionistas wardrobe! Lately, I have been obsessing over my boyfriend fit jean jacket. The oversized look simplifies your outfit, while elevating your look. This super simple throw on will add a super fun element to the rather simple “Midi Shirt Dress”!
Adding sneakers to a dress is a trend that I have come to LOVE recently. Walking from shop to shop can take a lot out of a girl; especially when you are running around the city, catching trains from one end of downtown to the other. Platform sneakers look amazing with any outfit, from casually wearing leggings and a tee, to dressing up your weekend wardrobe, these babies will not fail you! One of my personal favorites, are the espadrille platform; such a perfect transition from summer to fall!
