5 THINGS TO DO TO SET YOUR BIZ UP FOR 2021
The start of the new year is always a good time to revisit the basics when it comes to your business. It’s a chance to reset certain things that can set you up for the better this year. While everyones to do lists are longer than ever these days, we’ve outlined 5 (somewhat) simple things you can do now to improve your biz.
And let’s be honest, we all need a fresh start. Am I right?
#1: Update Your Inventory: Make sure your inventory is up to date and accurate. If things need to be removed, do it now. Be sure you’ve got the most recently added inventory showing first and if it’s time to shift older items to a SALE tab, do it. It’s a great time to make sure people are seeing all the new stuff they’ll want to shop in the new year.
#2: Refresh Your Website: Taking a cue from the above, if you haven’t recently, switch up your homepage a bit - swap out a main image, rework your bottom half flow, ensure all links are working correctly, product descriptions are robust and proper images are being used. Also maybe it’s time to add a new category in your navigation,, or see if there’s a fresh feature your website template offers that can make things feel new to your customers. Consider it a little digital housecleaning.
#3: Set Short and Long Term Online Sales Goals: Write them down. We like to look at online sales goals quarterly, then break it down month by month. It’s always good to sort out what you want your site to do and then sort out the plan of action to get there. What do your online revenue goals for 2021 look like?
#4: Refocus on Your Ideal Customer: Take a step back and outline your ideal customer. Write it down. Then start to sort out how to reach them better and often. This is the first step in driving conversion online.
#5: Consider and Focus on One New Marketing Approach: Maybe it’s extending your email marketing efforts, maybe it’s kicking off an influencer campaign, maybe it’s putting a finer point on your social media strategy, or perhaps it’s embarking in a content marketing strategy - push yourself to identify and execute one new marketing effort that helps you get closer to your goals.
